The Perfect Date Night in West Hollywood!

My hubby and I went for a night out at Estrella on Sunset Boulevard to try the new restaurant that everyone has been buzzing about!

Seated outside on the garden patio, it wasn’t hard to feel romantic and cozy.

The evening breeze was brushed off by the warm heat lamp to my left.
I was happy to cozy up in the comfy booth for some one on one time with one of the busiest men in Hollywood … My hubby!

After killing a few minutes taking selfie kisses,

we tasted a few yummy cocktails, including Sex, Drugs, and Rock N’ Roll, and yes, I ordered it because of its name!

Mixed and stirred by the best with Reposado Tequila, Mezcal, Lime, Ginger, Rosemary Honey and Nutmeg … It was hard to say which I loved most!

However, tipping the scale slightly in its favor, Beat It blew my mind with its Blanco Tequila, Lemon Juice, Ginger, Beat Agave, Grapefruit, Cilantro, and Smoked Sea Salt.

It actually might be my favorite cocktail ever! #nicelydone!

Equally impressive was our EPIC server, DJ.

You know those annoying people who are service snobs? Well, I’m one of them. I swear it’s not because I’m a diva.

Quite on the contrary, I grew up with very little so working in the restaurant industry for seven years definitely make me appreciate fabulous service … Fortunately for me and the rest of West Hollywood, DJ KILLED the game with service. He was definitely one of the highlights!

I wasn’t left to my opinions for very long because the food started coming out and there was plenty more to enjoy!

First up was the Duck Liver Butter, a green strawberry marmalade with cardamom.

Next up was the flavorful Popcorn, a crustacean salt with freeze friend corn and safe butter.

Crudités was next with roasted, raw & sundried vegetables with cumin Greek yogurt.

We also sampled the Roaste Bone Marrow, a smoke shoyu with veal glaze, pickled kumquat, pearl onions and a grilled baguette.

I know, you’d think they would stop there, but they didn’t! We then had the Sous Vide Hanger Steak, which was my favorite!

Served medium rare either favs beans, carrot-herb salad and house made carrot sriracha sauce, it is definitely a must try in my opinion!

The Hiramasa Yellowtail Crudo was next. Serve with a verve espresso infused shoyu, peas and carrots, it was definitely a delicious light option!

And, of course it would be complete for this southern girl without some good ‘ole fried chicken!

The chicken was serve with the BEST cornbread I have ever had!

We close the night with the most amazing Banana Butter Cake with a hazelnut ice cream.

Can we say amazinggggg!?!

If you haven’t made it over to Estrella, you should! And, if you have in the past … It’s definitely time for another round. Chef Dakota Weiss is constantly changing the menu and incorporating fresh ingredients that are in season.

Be sure to check out Estrella (8800 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069)  (310) 652-6613 for your next dinner in West Hollywood!
