Restaurant Review: Most Romantic Restaurant in Los Angeles

Last night marked the two-year anniversary of my wedding to the handsome Rick Schirmer

To help me celebrate, West Restaurant and Lounge at Hotel Angeleno invited Rick and I to the most romantic restaurant in Los Angeles.

This date night hotspot is a not so hidden hidden gem off right off the 405 South.
If you live in LA, you roll by it 100 times … but you shouldn’t.

You should STOP and head up to West Lounge on the rooftop of the Angeleno Hotel and feast your eyes on one of the best views in LA dining and experience incredible service by the likes of Carlos Sanchez, Brandon and Chef Laura.

The general manager of the hotel {Scott) has done a killer job putting together an remarkable vibe and menu.

We started the evening with a bottle of Piper Heidsieck champagne, the official champagne of The Academy Awards.

Poured for us by one of the fabulous managers on staff.

After a Happy Anniversary toast we shared an intimate kiss

Just in time for our first course, a flavorful butternut squash soup served at the perfect temperature.

Next up was a mushroom truffle risotto on top of English pea purée and topped with fresh, carmalized scallops.

My husband even said:

“I don’t even like scallops and those were awesome”

… and he is picky!

Just when I thought they couldn’t top themselves, they served a fresh halibut, caught that morning, with a side of couscous.

Next up was a scoop of fresh lemon sorbet topped with a blackberry to cleanse our palates and prepare for our main course.

I have to be honest, by this point of the meal I was so overwhelmed with the delicious food I was only wishing I could eat more.

The main entree was a perfectly seasoned and cooked leg of lamb with a side of spinach and grits …. I meannnnn … E V E R Y T H I N G

This food was so epic that I didn’t want to ever leave!
The literal icing on the cake was the fact that Hotel Angeleno’s West Lounge ordered a custom Red Velvet Cake from Susie Cakes to celebrate our anniversary.

I was so amazed by the extra touch this restaurant put into our special night, Rick and I were beyond touched.
Definitely make the time to pop by Hotel Angeleno to see their newly renovated guest rooms and enjoy a romantic dinner on their rooftop West Lounge.

Expect to experience panorama views of Los Angeles in their cozy yet sexy restaurant lounge.

It’s the perfect meet up spot for folks meeting between the valley and Westside or Westside and Hollywood.

Travelers will enjoy some Southern (Californian) hospitality at this spot. My hubby and I are big fans of these guys.
