One-Day Juice Fast to Feel Fabulous For Back to School Time!!
I can’t believe people are going back to school already, can you? Well, if you are one of them, I suppose you are well briefed on that fact. #FacePalm … But, in Los Angeles, we can easily slip into another season in life and the calendar without so much of a palm tree leaf falling.
With that being the case, it is even more important to take time to zen out and be healthy. I mean, didn’t I JUST fill out my New Year’s resolutions? Is it REALLY time to start thinking about a Thanksgiving menu?? Oh Lord have mercy!!
I have decided the only way to jump into the zen-ness and slowwww this year down is to grab an inspiring book, some girlfriends and get healthy … quick!
The book I chose to grab is Yoga Lean by Beth Shaw.
This book is fabulous! It has poses and recipes to promote a healthy lifestyle. To grab a copy, please follow this link.
And, in the meantime, check out this simple one-day juice fast to help you feel like your fabulous self!
7AM – 8 ounces water with lemon and a pinch of cayenne. This cleanses your liver and stimulates circulation (remember my post on treating acne from the inside out?) If you like, sip your favorite herbal tea throughout the day.
8-9AM – 16 to 20 ounces of green juice: cucumber, celery, broccoli stems, kale, romaine, one pear, 1/2 inch piece ginger root.
11AM – Midmorning pick-me-up: 16 to 20 ounces green juice.
Lunch – 16 to 20 ounces of green juice (you are ALMOST there!)
4PM – How are you feeling about 16 to 20 ounces of green juice? Fabulous, right? How about adding a 2 to 4 shot of wheatgrass?
6-7PM – You can continue the diet for dinner of just juice, a smoothie, or blended raw soup. If you are feeling uncomfortable and want to eat some solid foods, try a light salad or steamed veggies.
Are you going to do it? I will do one day if you do! Remember, I am definitely not a doctor (I don’t even know how to use WebMD properly), so be sure to ask your doctor before going crazy with this. This is just a recommendation! =)
