La Valencia Hotel Sponsored Munchkin First Trip to La Jolla!

I spend so much of my life running. Running from one place to another. From meetings to events and everywhere in between.

To be honest, I kind of feel more comfortable running than standing still.

A road trip is like my kryptonite. I have to just sit. Of course, if I’m lucky enough to be in an Uber or chauffeured by this hunk …

I can continue running … Even when I’m sitting still.

Although the problem with running is sometimes you run out.  We all break sometimes. We all find ourselves in moments when we just need to stop.

I was certainly getting there … Umm for the past 7 months …

So when these two beautiful women invited munchkin, Rick and I to an event at La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, I was all yeses and happy dances!

When you get invited for a complimentary stay at a celeb, blogger or media event, you can get a little nervous if you’re a tiny bit introverted like me because you never know what you are going to get!

Fortunately, I have always been pretty blessed in that department!

No catty girls, lots of yummy foods and super cozy beds!

The getaway began with checking in at the most beautiful hotel in La Jolla, La Valencia to celebrate the 90th birthday of this stunning hotel.

Isn’t it absolutely epic!?

I mean, take a peek at this beautiful piece of art in the garden …

The memorial is pretty nice too!?! 🙂

Meet Mark Dibella, the hotel’s 8th managing director (…in 90 years. Yes, let that sit a little!). With the turnover in jobs these days, I can only imagine how great it is working at La Valencia Hotel — especially with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. Umm cubicle or ocean views …?

In all seriousness though, isn’t that memorial beautiful? It is the reason this stunning hotel earned her nickname, the Pink Lady!

After checking in and getting munchkin settled. 🙂

We headed downstairs for a fabulous cocktail party in the garden

Complete with lots of selfies

and my very own kissing booth!

Next, we headed upstairs for a formal sit down dinner

Which was complete with fun, “get to know you” toasts,

And an intimidating number of utensils … Which #letsbehonest made it super chic and fabulous!

You know the night was a success …. when the after party was in my shower …

I have to admit … no one said, “Oh my gosh! Rachel is so much fun, let’s go after party it up in her room“.

No, it was more like … “Rachel has the best room at the hotel, let’s go check it out.

Haha! But that’s okay! I’ll take what I can get! Hahah.

While everyone raved about how fabulous their rooms were, there are two rooms at the hotel called the Sky Tower Suites, and those are the absolute best!

They use to be one epic restaurant upstairs with the most break-taking views. Now, they host VIP guests in their one bedroom suites.

It truly was a perfect romantic getaway!

Complete with presents and sweet cards from the staff,

Epic views,

A Dr Seuss tree

Zen moments,

A camera crew

And lots of love with my baby!

I highly recommend La Jolla and (obviously) the La Valencia Hotel
