A Fashionista’s Guide to Project Women’s at MAGIC
Hi babies! I can’t even begin to describe what an epic experience it is at Project Women’s.
I had been once as a model for PUMA to do a fashion show, but it was nothing like the way I’ve experienced it the last few days!
As fellow fashion enthusiasts, I am sure you have all heard of MAGIC Las Vegas – one of the world’s largest fashion marketplaces. The goal of the event is to help fabulous brands connect with their current boutique and retailer clients and to attract more.
The best part about the show (for me) was seeing the latest trends. Can you imagine what it’s like to see 600 epic brands in one place? Well, let tell you … It was heaven!
I was honored to be welcomed as one of Project Women’s (a sector of MAGIC Las Vegas) Guest Editors alongside Teen Vogue, covering the entire showroom floor and all of the fabulous brands involved!
The show began first thing Monday morning, where I was welcomed into the Mandalay Bay Convention Center by bright lights, a gorgeous orange carpet and tons of incredible fashion.
By the ending of each day my cheeks hurt from grinning from ear to ear for 9 hours straight!
Kelly Helfman, Project Women’s Show Director (and my spirit animal), took me for a tour of the showroom – from accessories to swimwear, the showroom floor was my playground for the next three days!
One of my favorite places was called “Oasis” which acted as a gathering place for cocktail hours, meet and greets and hosted Q&A’s.
Another favorite was the Project VIP lounge
The perfect place to take a deep breath, rest my feet and fall in love with Mandalay Bay’s staff. The epic food and hot tea was the perfect touch for those taking a breath and admiring the perfectly dressed VIPs.
So, who are those VIPs? Word on the showroom floor was that Project attracts “the right buyers”.
For brands showing their latest styles and connecting with their clients, it is important to know that the right buyers are there I can’t tell you how many times I heard brands mention the other shows where
Considering the abundance of booths, I started from right to left to make my way around!
I began at “Mode Lingerie and Swim” section – which conveniently had the best lighting for Insta pics.
Here I met with designers, owners and sales reps of some of the most beautiful lingerie and swimwear lines on the market today!
Once I had checked out all of the Lingerie & Swimwear booths, I moved onto the HUNDREDS of Women’s Wear and Accessory booths – again, with that huge embarrassing grin on my face. #fashionistaprobs.
From brands that give back to brands that could style any one of my 31 personality flavors (that’s a different kind of #fashionistaprob) … This show was my ultimate fashion dream came true.
One of the first brands that immediately caught my eye was Pura Vida Bracelets. “Pura Vida” is Spanish for “pure life”, a Costa Rican philosophy that encourages the appreciation of life’s simple treasures.
Every Pura Vida Bracelet is carefully handcrafted by artisans in Costa Rica and is an unique as the person wearing it! Pura Vida has partnered with over 190 charities and has donated more than $935,358 to date. They are also a member of 1% for the Planet, meaning they donate 1% of our annual net revenue to environmental organizations worldwide.
S’well was up next and one of my all-time favorite brands well before showing up in Vegas!
A proud supporter of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, S’well caught not only my heart but my eyes with their fabulous new Spring/Fall 2016 designs – from trending marble prints to island vibes – there is a style for every personality!
On to Place Showroom, which holds a total of 26 brands under it’s label. I browsed the racks discovering brands like ASTR, Elliatt & Donni Charm!
ASTR offers trend inspired, easy to wear designs for the fashion forward beauty who strives to be innovative and ever evolving with her style.
Elliatt is a luxe designer brand offering quality and cutting edge designs whilst retaining the commercial element of an affordable and accessible price point.
Donni Charm is more than just a scarf line, it’s the heart-and-soul of a young woman who lost her dad and found a positive means of linking her love for fashion to her healing process.
Two brands fit The McCord List brand oh so perfectly with their color scheme and messaging, Soia & Kyo and Raffi – two beautifully constructed designers after this pink pastel loving girl’s heart.
Soia & Kyo believes that beauty is found in simplicity, in turn, creating masterful outerwear that is luxurious in materials with a contemporary, timeless signature style that speaks for itself.
Raffi – a brand based on comfortable creations that speak to a lifestyle of luxury – with a women’s collection designed by Raffi’s three daughters who represent all things fabulous!
Some of my favorite accessory booths I had the pleasure of stopping by captured my attention with unique factors I couldn’t help but share!
First up was Kris Nations – a brand built by two sisters that is equal parts sophisticated and bohemian, with a little vintage inspiration thrown into the mix.
Next was Kelly Wynne – a collection comprised of Kelly’s signature printed suede and leather combinations, which give the bags a unique and beautiful texture (pictured you can see their signature Cloud 9 Clutch that can be worn 5 DIFFERENT WAYS).
Lastly was Vanessa Mooney – winner of the #BloggerProject “Best Accessories Women’s” Category – the brand exists as an eclectic muse that draws influence from a multitude of eras, revolutions and walks of life.
Three days wasn’t nearly long enough to capture this fashion-filled dream world, but it was an absolute honor to be brought in as a Guest Editor, soak up the Vegas sun and warm my heart with all of the amazing people I was able to connect with!
